Malvy's Flowers and Gift Shop, Inc. was established as S. Malvarosa and Sons in 1922 in the North End of Boston by Stanley Malvarosa, Sr. and the business continued on when Stanley Malvarosa, Jr. took over in 1959.In 1969, Jennie Malvarosa (Stanley Jr.’s wife) opened her very own flower shop on Main Street in Woburn as part of the family business. As the next generation came of age, Stanley III and Annette, along with her husband Gary, have continued the tradition of providing quality floral arrangements and outstanding service ever since.
We, as a family, wish to inform you that after 96 years of faithfully and fortuitously operating as S. Malvarosa and Sons Flower Shop and Malvy's Flower and Gift Shop, Inc. are closing our doors to conclude business operations at the end of this year. It is with much trepidation and heavy hearts that we make this significant decision. We feel that it is the best time for our family to retire from the business that we have loved and nurtured for three generations. Over time, many of our customers have become more like family to us and we want to acknowledge how very important you are to us and how meaningful our relationship has been with each of you. We will miss the daily contact that we have come to appreciate more and more as the years have gone by, but we will carry all of you with us to the next chapter of our lives.
It has been a privilege and honor to serve the communities that have helped to support our endeavors and have given us the opportunity to be a successful small business. We look back on many fond memories of helping our clients to celebrate the many happy occasions of their lives such as weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. We were also able to help ease the pain of the loss of a loved one for many of you over the years. Our floral arrangements have been a way to help people embrace, enjoy, and enhance the moments that have been most important to them individually and as a family. The Malvarosa and Fuller families momentously thank all of you for allowing us to be a significant part of your lives, as you have been of ours.
And as we find our way into future years, we wish you all well and hope that your memories of our floral family stay fondly with you. We leave the flower industry with great hopes for peace and joy for you and your families always.
